Opticentre installs first SuperComputers for Localization

Monday, 12 February 2007

Opticentre evangelists of the world’s smartest automating toolsets to add velocity, slash costs and raise quality for localization service providers the world over have set the technology bar even higher with their latest infrastructure upgrade.
Opticentre is one of the first organizations outside of the US to have taken delivery of the fastest available SuperComputer, using the latest Intel Quad-Core Xeon 5300 Series Processing Power.
“Potential in the localization space took a massive leap forward with this installation, the massive processing power each system will provide will dramatically change the way we support our demanding customers” announced COO Michel Tutundjian. “Our processing power has just been revolutionized so processes that took hours on PC systems can now be turned around at lightning speed while actually consuming less energy than most chips on the market today. So Opticentre can continue providing more for less while helping the environment at the same time!”
In the meantime, while the software market races to catch up with writing threaded software for multiple cores, Opticentre Development Teams are already writing new applications with massively multicore chips in mind.
