Translation and Localization
Opticentre Experts are intimately expert in all translation and localization processes. However we believe the world is already endowed with sufficient translating expertise most of which can be easily found on the web so we don't feel we add value by wading into this well-supplied market. We prefer to advise, to train and to facilitate with tools and workflow.
When we're asked to take on translation projects we prefer to refer our clients to our selected power-user translators (screened for proficiency in all top tools) from our database of over 1500 covering all the world’s languages. This of course reinforces our message of 'back-shoring' to the customer, i.e. how easy and cost-effective it is to run one’s own projects, provided – of course – that one has optimal workflow in place!
Opticentre software localization and translation expertise includes:
- Localization engineering, including build environment replication, source control and file management, translation simulation, dialog resizing, build and test iterations, bug regression, and virus-free gold mastering.
- Translation of all user interface elements, such as strings, dialogs, menus, and error messages; translation of user assistance components such as Help, online documentation, printed manuals, and packaging.
- Software testing and QA (quality assurance), including functionality testing, compatibility testing, usability testing, internationalization testing, and localization testing.
- Adding velocity, saving cost, creating consistent quality by recycling from software (UI) to documentation (UA) et vice versa.
- Using an array of the worlds leading localization tools, particularly Idiom WorldServer, Heartsome and PASSOLO.
